I think that Barbara Streisand’s song fits Annie’s character so so well. Thanks for the video ! The only character which moved me throughout this movie. Despite having everything, she seems so deprived.. Yes a loving husband whom she respects, but sadly who couldn’t do anything to strengthen the bond between a mother and her daughter & who couldn’t understand his wife’s inner depression.. Maybe he tried.. But it doesn’t appear to me that he did something ! She finally found love & happiness she needed in Tom’s arms and environment, but sacrifice it all, only for Grace..because it was the “right” thing to do. The last part was heart-breaking when she couldn’t bear to do that “last ride” with him.. A very brief moment of love & happiness she has felt in this ranch with Tom..And i don’t know how any woman will be able to live with that sorrow for the rest of her life. She knew he was the ONE. She knew she wanted THIS LIFE. But can she say it loud ?? For her Grace, she left her job.. she was ready for any sacrifice to make her girl stronger & determined than the woman she is.. and was ready to give up anything which could break Grace..

I get so upset when I read a story synopsis or blog referring to Annie. I dont think many people really got her. They say such things as: :Just like Tom's wife she returned to the big city life (etc). Did they even SEE the movie? Look at what she went through to try to help her daughter. Even messed up her career.. She knew her daughter loved and needed both parents. She was about to enter important years in a young woman's life minus half her leg.
